Two roles

Lead and support mentors

Mentors serve in one of two roles for each mentee. Both matter, they simply carry different responsibilities.

Lead mentor

Guide a mentee end to end. You evaluate their work, track their growth, set milestones and goals, and issue awards as they progress. You are their primary point of accountability.

Support mentor

Offer guidance and encouragement to mentees who share their work with you. You add perspective and experience. The lead mentor handles formal evaluation.

On the platform

What mentors do

Everything you need to guide a mentee lives in one place.

Schedule 1:1 sessions

Meet mentees over video or in person, booked around your real availability.

Set milestones and goals

Agree clear milestones and goals, and track them so progress stays accountable.

Give feedback

Leave constructive, timely feedback your mentee can revisit between sessions.

Issue awards

Recognize growth with awards as mentees reach milestones.

Global mentoring

Guide leaders across the world, on your schedule

EGA mentors and mentees span many countries and time zones. You mentor on your own terms: set your hours once, in your own time zone, and the platform makes sure every mentee books at a time that works for both of you.

No spreadsheets, no time-zone maths, just show up for the sessions you agreed to.

Availability and time zones

Manage your availability across time zones

EGA mentors and mentees are spread around the world. You set your hours once, in your own time zone, and the platform does the conversion so no one has to.

1

Set your weekly hours

Add recurring availability windows for each weekday, with breaks. This becomes your default schedule.

2

Adjust specific dates

Override any single date with custom hours, or mark it fully unavailable, without touching your weekly template.

3

Work in your own time zone

Your time zone is detected automatically (for example Africa/Accra). You set hours in your time; mentees always book in theirs. Everything is stored in UTC and converted for you, daylight saving included.

4

Set sensible guardrails

Tune buffers between sessions, minimum notice, how far ahead people can book, and daily or weekly limits so your calendar stays manageable.

5

Step away when you need to

Add time off for holidays, or switch on vacation mode to pause all new bookings while you're away.

You'll find all of this in the dashboard under Appointments, then Manage, once you're an active mentor.

What we ask

Mentor expectations

  • Keep your availability current so mentees can book with confidence
  • Show up on time, in your stated time zone, and communicate early if plans change
  • Give constructive, timely feedback and keep milestones up to date
  • Maintain professionalism and confidentiality with every mentee
  • Use time off or vacation mode rather than leaving stale open slots
