EGA Mentorship International
Formerly the Digital Futures Programme
An elite innovation accelerator where young Africans become AI leaders, digital innovators, entrepreneurs, researchers, technologists and social-impact changemakers.
Overview
ADISP fuses artificial intelligence, data science, digital innovation, entrepreneurship, leadership and future-of-work skills into one mentorship-led, competency-based pathway. It equips young Africans, most of them women and many from rural and under-served communities, to create, lead and thrive in the AI economy - and to lift others as they rise.
Built for young people 15–35 - and open to anyone motivated to build their digital future.
A representative cohort runs full-time over about 28 weeks, with part-time and stretched options that hold the same standard over a longer period.

4 monthsBeginners · no coding Starts Mon 21 Septt 2026
Do anything with a prompt: master prompts, then AI for documents, spreadsheets, slides, research, design, video, content, business plans, apps and automations, with the free tools people actually use. No code. Ends in a Demo Day.
Why now
Africa has the youngest, fastest-growing workforce on earth - and one of the widest gaps between the skills young people are taught and the skills the AI economy now rewards. ADISP is built to close that gap.
Millions of young Africans enter the labour market every year, faster than traditional jobs are created. The opportunity is a digitally skilled generation; the risk is a lost one.
Routine digital work is being automated while demand for people who can direct, build with and govern AI is surging. The skills that keep you relevant have changed.
Many degree and certificate programmes teach yesterday's tools with no real work attached - graduates finish credentialed but not yet job-ready.
Remote work means a young person in Ghana competes - and can win - against talent anywhere. Global-standard skills unlock global-standard opportunity.
AI literacy is fast becoming as fundamental as reading, writing and numeracy. ADISP treats it exactly that way - not as a single module, but as a lens on everything.
Where we are going
A generation of young Africans, beginning with the under-served youth of Ghana’s Western North, who create, lead and thrive in the AI economy on equal terms with anyone in the world.
EGA equips young people, most of them women and many from rural and under-served communities, with practical, AI-native digital skills and the mentorship, character and professional habits to move into dignified, fulfilling work and enterprise, and to lift others as they rise.
Why ADISP is different
These are the promises that separate ADISP from a typical digital-skills course - and they hold across every track, phase and pillar.
Every learner works with AI as a daily tool and learns to apply human judgment over it, from the first week, in every track. Not a module bolted on later.
This is a competency-based programme. Progress and graduation are earned by demonstrating real ability, verified through real work, never by attendance or a written exam alone.
Every learner has a named mentor. Our mentorship heritage is what sustains motivation, builds character, and turns graduates into mentors for the next cohort.
Access for young women, persons with disabilities and rural learners is engineered into how we recruit, teach and support, not added as an afterthought.
The principles behind the design
Our innovation framework
Every learner runs the same disciplined loop that real innovators and startups use - from understanding a human problem to shipping and scaling a solution. It is design thinking and lean product practice, made concrete and repeated until it becomes instinct.
Start with a real person and a real problem - usually in your own community.
Frame the problem sharply and decide what a good solution must do.
Generate options with AI as a thinking partner; choose the strongest bet.
Prototype and build a working solution, fast, with modern tools.
Test with real users, measure, and improve on evidence - not opinion.
Launch to a definition of done, then grow what works.
Programme pillars
Technical skill on its own is not enough. ADISP builds capability across six connected pillars so graduates can create, lead, earn and contribute - not just code.
Artificial intelligence, data literacy and applied machine learning as the spine of the whole programme - in every track, from week one.
Turn ideas into working digital products - design thinking, prototyping, product development and emerging technologies.
Build ventures, not just skills - from opportunity and no-code MVPs to validation, pitching and launch.
Lead yourself and others - problem-solving, creativity, collaboration, character and human-centred design.
Become genuinely employable - professional habits, portfolio, communication and readiness for local and remote-international work.
Aim skills at real problems - build solutions that advance the Sustainable Development Goals and lift others as you rise.
The pathway
Mentorship, AI fluency and professional habits run through every phase; the technical depth increases at each step. You advance by meeting the standard, so quality stays constant even when pace varies.
The inclusive on-ramp. Digital and AI fluency, learning how to learn, communication, and work-readiness, so anyone capable can start, whatever their background.

AI competency framework
AI is not a single lesson. Across every track, learners develop six AI competencies - each assessed on the same four-level scale as every other skill in the programme.
Direct AI tools precisely to plan, draft, build, debug and improve work across your track.
Use AI copilots to design and ship real products faster, while owning the result.
Read, question and work with data, and understand how machine-learning models learn and fail.
Check AI outputs for accuracy, bias and hallucination, and take human responsibility for every decision.
Apply data privacy, fairness, transparency and responsible-use principles in real work.
Chain tools and automate workflows to multiply what one person can deliver.
Measured on the same four-level scale
How you graduate
An EGA graduate is defined by ability, not attendance. Across every track you develop seven competencies, each assessed through the real work you produce, a portfolio you own, and a live defence of your decisions.
Use AI tools fluently and safely to plan, build, check and improve work, while exercising human judgment over outputs.
Assessed through: Observed practice; process viva
Perform the core technical work of your track to an employer-recognised standard.
Assessed through: Artefacts; live build; portfolio
Break an ambiguous problem into workable parts and reason toward a sound solution.
Assessed through: Performance tasks; defence
Explain your work clearly, give and receive critique, and work inside a team's rhythms.
Assessed through: Peer review; stand-ups; demos
Ship work to a definition of done, meet commitments, and act with integrity and reliability.
Assessed through: Studio delivery log; mentor observation
Teach yourself a new tool or technique quickly, using AI and documentation.
Assessed through: Self-directed task; reflection
Mentor a peer, and contribute to your team and community.
Assessed through: Near-peer mentoring; civic project
Understands the concept and can follow a worked example with close support.
Can perform the task correctly with prompts and review from a mentor.
Can perform the task reliably and unaided to the required standard.
Performs to standard, adapts to new situations, and can teach the task to others.
That is why an EGA credential means you can actually do the job.
Applied Studio
Real internshipIn the Applied Studio you stop being a student and become a supervised delivery team, shipping real products under professional conditions. Mentors act as product owners and reviewers, near-peer trainers act as team leads, and you hold a real role.
A professional Agile environment on one-week sprints.
Applied to every deliverable. This is where professional behaviour is trained and assessed.
A modern, open, industry-standard toolset.
You graduate with a genuine portfolio and a reference from real delivery, not a certificate of completion.
AI Innovation Lab
The AI Innovation Lab is where learners move from following instructions to producing original work - applying AI and data to real problems, and beginning to create knowledge rather than only consume it.
Small, guided research projects that test how AI can solve a concrete local problem.
Structured exposure to the frontier - new models, tools and techniques - kept current by the AI & Emerging Technology council.
Teams take on authentic briefs from community organisations and small businesses.
Turn a hypothesis into a working prototype with evidence it actually helps.
The Lab feeds the capstone and the entrepreneurship studio: promising prototypes can graduate into real products or ventures.
Digital Entrepreneurship Studio
For learners who want to build a venture rather than take a job, the Digital Entrepreneurship Studio is a built-in incubator: a structured path from a raw idea to a validated product and an investable pitch, using no-code and AI tools to move fast and cheap.
Find a real problem worth solving and shape a business idea around it.
Create a minimum viable product with no-code and AI tools - no big budget required.
Test with real customers, gather evidence, and refine the model on what you learn.
Tell a compelling story, present to a panel, and launch to first users.
Career accelerator & global opportunities
The programme is engineered for what comes after it. From day one you build the portfolio, professional habits and network that turn skill into a livelihood - whether that is a local role, a remote-international job, or a venture of your own.
Software, data, cloud, product and design roles with employers and startups.
Global-standard skills and professional English for the worldwide remote market.
Launch and run a digital venture or a freelance practice.
Build technology for impact inside NGOs, government and community organisations.
Because the portfolio is real and the standard is global, an ADISP graduate can compete for opportunity anywhere - not only where they live.
Assessment & credentials
No single instrument is trusted alone. Competence is triangulated from several sources, which is what makes the credential meaningful and hard to game in an AI-assisted world.
Artefacts & portfolio
The real things you have built, to a definition of done.
Live demonstration & defence
You explain and justify your work, including how you used AI. An artefact can be AI-generated; a fluent defence of every decision cannot.
Observed practice
Mentor and team-lead observation across the Applied Studio.
Peer review
Structured critique within the cohort.
Employer sign-off
Partner validation of the capstone as work-ready.
Rather than one all-or-nothing certificate, achievement stacks and stays portable, so you can enter, exit and re-enter without losing what you earned.
Competency micro-credential
Reaching Independent level in a single competency domain.
Track credential
All core competencies for a specialisation, plus Applied Studio delivery.
Full pathway credential
A complete track credential plus the cross-cutting competencies and a validated capstone.
Tilted toward demonstrated skill and professionalism, not recall.

Built for the under-served
We start where opportunity usually runs out, with young women, with learners who have a disability, and with talented young people far from the big cities. A 70% participation target for women, accessible delivery, low-bandwidth and partly-offline learning, and support with devices and connectivity mean that background is not destiny.
A 70% participation target, women mentors and role models throughout, and a safe, welcoming learning culture.
Deliberate outreach and accessible delivery, with reasonable adjustments built into assessment.
A rural anchor plus hybrid, low-bandwidth delivery reaches learners the city-based programmes structurally miss.
The pathway is free to the poorest, with device and connectivity support where needed.
We operate a safeguarding framework: a code of conduct for mentors and staff, vetting, clear reporting lines, and defined boundaries for adult-learner interaction, with pastoral support for learner wellbeing.
Voices
Our founding cohort is being selected now. As learners progress, their stories - in their own words - will appear here. We publish only real, verifiable voices; we never invent them.
