EGA Mentorship International Deepens Strategic Partnerships to Expand Youth Opportunities Across Africa

From Ghana’s North East to Somaliland: Building a Global Youth Development Network Through Mentorship, Digital Leadership and Opportunity

EGA Mentorship International is strengthening its commitment to creating meaningful opportunities for young people through strategic partnerships with institutions, government agencies, universities and organisations across Africa and beyond.

Our recent strategic partnership engagement with the National Youth Authority (NYA), North East Region of Ghana, represents an important step in this direction. The engagement brought together EGA’s global team and NYA representatives to explore how both institutions can collaborate to equip young people with the mentorship, digital skills, leadership capacity, entrepreneurial mindset and global opportunities needed to thrive in a rapidly changing world.

A Strategic Partnership Built Around Young People

The proposed partnership with NYA is centred on a shared understanding: young people do not only need motivation, they need access, mentorship, skills, networks and opportunities.

Through the proposed North East Youth Mentorship and Digital Leadership Programme, EGA seeks to support young people with practical development opportunities across four key areas:

These areas reflect EGA's broader mission of Empowering Global Leaders by connecting young people to people, knowledge, technology and opportunities beyond their immediate communities.

The North East of Ghana has enormous youth potential. EGA believes that with the right institutional support and international connections, that potential can be transformed into innovation, employment, entrepreneurship, leadership and community impact.

A Successful Engagement with the National Youth Authority

The strategic partnership discussion with the National Youth Authority, North East Region, was an important opportunity for EGA to present its vision, programmes and international network while listening carefully to the priorities and realities of young people in the region.

The engagement demonstrated strong alignment between EGA's mentorship model and the objectives of youth development institutions.

EGA was particularly encouraged by the positive feedback received during the discussion and the possibilities for collaboration.

Following the meeting, EGA's leadership expressed strong confidence in the potential of the partnership, with the team assessing the opportunity as having an estimated 80% likelihood of progressing successfully, subject of course to the necessary institutional approvals, agreements and implementation arrangements.

For EGA, however, the meeting was never simply about securing a partnership.

It was about earning the opportunity to serve.

If NYA Opens the Door, EGA Will Be Ready to Deliver

EGA Mentorship International recognises that strategic partnerships come with responsibility.

If the National Youth Authority grants EGA the opportunity to implement or support programmes for young people in the North East Region, EGA is committed to approaching that responsibility with professionalism, accountability and measurable impact.

Our commitment will be to move beyond speeches, conferences and certificates and focus on practical outcomes for young people.

EGA intends to bring its international mentorship network, digital learning capabilities, leadership development experience and global partnerships together to create opportunities that young people can actually use.

The objective is not merely to tell young people that they have potential.

The objective is to help them develop that potential into something tangible.

Connecting Ghana's Youth to the World

One of the strongest opportunities presented by a partnership of this nature is the possibility of connecting young people in Ghana's North East to international mentors, professionals, entrepreneurs, technology experts and institutions.

EGA's vision is fundamentally global.

A young person in the North East Region should not be limited by geography.

Through digital platforms and international partnerships, a student, graduate, entrepreneur or emerging leader should be able to connect with a mentor in another region of Ghana, another African country, Canada, the United Kingdom or elsewhere in the world.

This is why EGA places such strong emphasis on global networks and opportunities.

We believe that access to the right person at the right moment can change the trajectory of a young person's life.

From Ghana to East Africa: The Journey Continues

While EGA continues to build on the momentum generated through the NYA engagement, the organisation is already looking ahead to its next strategic conversation.

The next proposed engagement will be with Borama University in Somaliland, where EGA will explore opportunities to expand its Mentorship and Digital Leadership Programme into East Africa.

This represents another important step in EGA's long-term vision of building a connected African youth ecosystem.

The objective is not simply to expand EGA geographically.

The objective is to build bridges between young people across borders.

A young leader in Ghana should be able to learn from a young entrepreneur in Somaliland.

A technology enthusiast in Somaliland should be able to connect with mentors and opportunities in Ghana.

A university student in one African country should be able to access knowledge, networks and collaborative opportunities from another.

This is the kind of Africa EGA wants to help build.

From West Africa to East Africa

The potential engagement with Borama University is therefore more than another partnership meeting.

It is an opportunity to explore how universities and youth-focused institutions across Africa can work together to develop a generation equipped for the digital economy and global challenges.

EGA will approach the engagement with the same principles demonstrated in Ghana:
